The Arizona Registrar of Contractors is the governmental agency that is supposed to protect the citizens in Arizona from bad and unethical builders. If only that were true!
The Arizona Registrar of Contractors is likened to a dog without any teeth. Filing a complaint against a builder with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors is a complete waste of your time. It takes a long time to get a hearing (at least a year or longer) IF they do accept your complaint against a builder.
I have received so many emails with horror stories from consumers here in Arizona regarding many different builders that AROC did nothing about. I believe very strongly reform here in Arizona is a must. A home is usually the most expensive thing that a person buys in their lifetime yet we have less protection on that purchase than we do when we purchase a "lemon" car.
Together we the consumers can cause change!

I would also like to hear from victims of real estate agents. Once again the agency that is supposed to protect you from bad real estate agents is the Arizona Real Estate Commission. I have heard from many such victims. They too do NOT do their job. This is another agency badly in need of an overhaul.
